# Create or edit a Circle

> Give your Circle a name that helps you recognize it.

Depending on the options shown, you can add a description, choose members, and decide how private it should be.

## Where to find it

From Circles, choose Create or the owned circle’s Edit action.

## What you can do

* Enter or revise the name and description.
* Choose the type and add tags when those fields are present.
* Select members and privacy options offered by the form.
* Save to create or update the circle; cancel to leave it unchanged.

## How to use it

* Use a name that describes your own organizing purpose.
* Check selected members and privacy before saving.
* Reopen the circle to confirm the saved member count and details.

  **Availability and privacy.** Only manage information you have permission to use. Available fields can differ by account and ownership; shared circles may be read-only.
